Where is the Appalachian Trail?

Some people have heard of it, some have not. Called the AT (pronounced aaaaa-teeee) by those that have seen the white blazes, the Appalachian Trail traverses mountain ridges from Georgia to Maine. Covering 14 states and about 2200 miles this mountain path rises up and down, and up and down, and up and down again so many times that if you do walk the entire trail you have basically scaled Mt. Everest a whole bunch of times and planted enough footsteps to circle our galaxy a few times …. Something like that. What I do know is it is not to be taken lightly as it will kick ones butt into shape, or kill ya, or leave you for dead. At the end of the day you’ll still want to hike more of it.
